The revised Bylaws have been approved by ITS America. SmartWays Wisconsin is now officially an ITS America chapter.

 

 


Welcome to SmartWays Wisconsin

The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) network in Wisconsin is called SmartWays. SmartWays makes transportation in Wisconsin safer, more reliable and more efficient. The systems apply advanced technologies to keep track of all aspects of the transportation network and make real-time information easily accessible to travelers. They are crucial in meeting the surface transportation needs of Wisconsin’s rural and urban regions. 

2008 MidContinent Transportation Research Forum

The Wisconsin Transportation Center will be hosting the 7th annual MidContinent Transportation Research Forum in Madison, WI on August 14-15, 2008. Please refer to http://www.mrutc.org/midcon/ for periodic updates.

ITS America’s 2008 Annual Meeting to Combine with the 15th World Congress on ITS

Our Mission

SmartWays Wisconsin is the Wisconsin chapter of ITS America, which was established in 1991 to coordinate the development and deployment of ITS in the United States. The mission of SmartWays Wisconsin is to encourage and support professionals involved in research, technology development, planning, institutional coordination, program deployment and evaluation of ITS to enhance safety and mobility in Wisconsin. The goals of the chapter are to evaluate and provide technical review; counsel and assessment of ITS in Wisconsin; to support and conduct ITS technology research and development; to promote ITS professional development and awareness in Wisconsin; and to facilitate communication among ITS stakeholders in Wisconsin. Being a SmartWays member will provide you with information to educate decision-makers, help increase resources for ITS initiatives and improve travel by prioritizing operations and systems management.
